Several students participated and wore their college gear with pride as May 1st marks the day that colleges across the country require incoming students to make their official decision.

NFA Diver, Danielle Scarano, Places 1st in Diving State Championship
In November, Danielle Scarano won 1st place at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association state championship meet. Coming into the meet, Danielle was seeded first in the competition of 50 divers.

NFA Senior, Azariah McLymore Honored by The Orange County Human Rights Commission
Azariah McLymore, senior from Newburgh Free Academy, North Campus, Excelsior Academy was honored along with five other honorees. Azariah was the only student honored at the event.

This is the second time in the past three years that NFA has had the Lieutenant Governor.

NFA Varsity Boys Track Team Finished 8th in International Competition
The NFA Varsity Boys Track team qualified for the 4X400m relay Championship of America Finals at Penn Relays this past weekend in Philadelphia. As a result, they finished in 8th place out of 528 of the top high school teams.

Students are paired with the same mentor each week to help nurture and grow the relationship. Mentors are college students who are part of the Division of Education at MSMC. A few of the mentors are also recent NFA alumni.
