Seven of Eight NFA Crew Team Competition Boats Advance to Finals at New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship
The NFA Crew Team competed in the New York State Scholastic Rowing Championship, held annually in Saratoga Springs, against hundreds schools and clubs. Seven out of eight competition boats advanced to finals Sunday several of which placed.

NFA Goldbacks Crew Team Win Medals at Recent Competitions
The NFA Crew team recently competed at the Orange Ulster Championships and the HVRL Novice Championships. The team took home six medals, including one gold medal and a cup!

NFA Main Orchestra Earns Gold Rating on Level III at NYSSMA Majors Adjudication Festival
The orchestra earned a Gold rating on a Level III adjudication. We performed three pieces; "Three Slavonic Dances" by Dvorak, "Hungarian Dance No. 4" by Brahams and "Kashmir" by Led Zeppelin.

Students Perform and JROTC Supports New Windsor Memorial Day Parade
The Town of New Windsor held their annual Memorial Day Ceremony and Parade over the weekend. JROTC marched and presented colors. The NFA Band and the Heritage Middle School Band performed as they marched.

Newburgh Free Academy’s 17th Annual Empty Bowls Event Raises $5,400 for Food Bank
Newburgh Free Academy hosted their 17th annual Empty Bowls event in April. Empty Bowls is a national network of volunteer efforts to provide hunger relief. The event welcomed nearly 200 people and raised $5,400 for the local food bank.

Scholars from NFA Spanish class, taught by Ms. Pilar Treus skyped with peers from Spain. This project takes being "pen pals" to a new level. Students began by emailing with a fellow student from the clas in Spain.
