Newburgh Debate Team Travels to Yale to Compete
here were 209 teams in the Public Forum field. These teams came from all over the country including California, Arizona, Florida, Texas. Additionally, schools that ranked in the top 14th at Nationals were also there participating.

Newburgh Free Academy celebrated its 147th graduation ceremony on Thursday, June 21, 2018. 652 scholars from our three high school campuses donned their gaps and gowns to walk across Academy Field to receive their diploma.

Two NFA Scholars Represent Newburgh at the National Speech & Debate Tournament
They were considered part of the top 3% in the Nation. There were over 4,000 students from America and 16 other countries. In the branch of Debate that they do, Public Forum, there were about 580 students.

139 scholarships, given by over 90 sponsors, totaled more than $125,000 for our scholars this year. Also celebrated were 140 of our High Honors scholars, those who earned a grade point average above a 89.5.
