|NECSD Celebrates Pink Night in Honor of Those Who Have Battled Cancer
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District participated in a Pink Night celebration in honor of those who have battled cancer. Participants from several schools lined the track and marched during a pre-game ceremony.
|Heritage Middle School Scholars Act as Community Scientists for Research Project
Heritage Middle School scholars in Ms. Aileen Toback’s grade 7 science classes are participating in Cornell University’s Mosquito Citizen Science Project, Asian Tiger Mosquito Invasive Boundary Project.
|Heritage Middle School: Dads Take Your Child to School Day Sign-Up Information
When fathers play these active roles alongside mothers, children tend to be more confident, earn better grades and exhibit healthier behavior. Dads Take Your Child to School Day is a statewide initiative.
|NFA College Information and College Fair Night - October 3, 2019
The night will include and admissions presentation at 5:15pm with information about the admissions process, scholarship information and financial aid. At 6:30pm over 100 colleges will be in attendance for students to meet with.
|Save the date! NFA Dance Presents: The Princess and the Frog
The NFA Dance Department will perform The Princess and the Frog on Friday, December 6th at 7:00pm and Saturday, December 7th at 2:00pm. Ticket information will be available in October.
|REMINDER: Wednesday - September 18, 2019 - 15 Minute Early Dismissal Drill
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District’s annual drill of the EARLY DISMISSAL PROCEDURES is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, 2019. Student will be release 15 minutes earlier than their normally scheduled.

The Newburgh Enlarged City School District celebrated the first day of school with an inaugural Ring the Bell event. The event welcomed students to a new school year and celebrated community members who have had a positive impact on our children.

|NECSD Welcomes New Teachers!
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District partnered with the Newburgh Teachers Association to welcome new teachers to an orientation program.
|Heritage Middle School Welcome 6th Grade Students at Orientation
All middle schools have hosted an orientation event for incoming 6th grade scholars. Each building held unique activities, but all middle schools had the goal of welcoming students to their new school.

6th Grade Orientations will be taking place at the end of the summer for Heritage, South, Temple Hill and Meadow Hill Schools. Please take a minute to RSVP if you plan on having your child attend.
|Transition Toolkits for Parents: PreK-K, 5th-6th, and 8th-9th
The Transition Toolkits give parents information on helping their students make the big moves in their educational careers a little bit easier.

|Heritage Middle School Celebrates 8th Graders Moving to High School
The celebration was held at Newburgh Free Academy and welcomed family, friends, and community members to honor the scholars.
|Scholars Enjoy Lunch and Legos at Newburgh Free Library
Earlier this week the Newburgh Free Library facilitated a lego station during lunch time. Scholars were able to enjoy their lunch and then spend a few minutes experimenting with architecture and engineering with legos.
|Free Summer Meals in Newburgh and New Windsor Open to ALL Children 18 and Younger
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District will launch their Free Summer Meals program with a collaborative event with Cornell Cooperative Extension Orange County, and local community agencies.

Scholars from Newburgh Free Academy West Campus, Horizons on the Hudson, Balmville Elementary, and Heritage Middle School combined their love of the arts with civic engagement.

|Newburgh Free Library Opens A Universe of Stories
Stop by the Main or Branch locations of the Newburgh Free Library and sign up for the Summer Reading Program. There are programs for youth of all ages, and adults too! Registration begins June 17, but continues throughout the summer.
