Heritage Middle School launched The Heritage Chronicle, an online blog that showcases Heritage happenings, events, photographs, interviews, educational links and much more.
|Heritage and South Middle School’s Math Teams Advance to Playoffs for Second Consecutive Year
This is the second year in a row that both Heritage and South Middle Schools have made the playoffs. Newburgh has been represented over the last four years, with either one or both schools attending together.
|NFA Alumni Writes Song for Students to Sing
Andy Pagana is a 1993 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy. He wrote a very catchy Christmas song called “Dear Mr. Santa Clause.” Ms. Coopersmith, and some of her students at Heritage Middle School love the song and learned all of the lyrics to it.

Selection tours are an opportunity for current 8th grade scholars and their families to learn about the unique environment that each school offers. Tours also provide a chance to meet the faculty and administrators, explore the facilities, and more!
|Heritage Middle School Class Learns about Hanukkah
On Friday December 20, 2019, Heritage Middle School scholar Chelsea and her mom taught Ms. Coopersmith’s class, about Hanukkah and why it is celebrated. Each student made a Dreidel using a marshmallow, a pretzel stick, icing and a Hershey’s Kiss.
|Heritage Middle School Hosts 2nd Annual NICU Fundraiser & Baby Shower
Scholars from Heritage Middle School organized donations for the St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital NICU unit prior to winter break. The group was overwhelmed with the generosity of our families.

Heritage Middle School scholars from team 6C participated in Senator Skoufis' Thanksgiving Creative Celebration. They received letters and certificates from the senator.
|Heritage Middle School Scholars Write Poetry:
Scholars in team 6C at Heritage Middle School are participating in Clarkson University's Beacon Institute for Rivers and Estuaries. In October, the students traveled to Beacon for a field trip to the Water Ecology Center at Denning's Point.

Heritage Middle School performed their Winter Band Concert, featuring their Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, and Concert Band.

Heritage Middle School has teamed up with the New York Jets in the 2019 NFL season to prevent bullying in school. Heritage is part of the “Jets Upstander of the Week Program."

|Heritage Middle School Hosts Annual Veterans Day Breakfast
Heritage Middle School welcomed veterans throughout the local community for a special breakfast in their honor. Relatives of students and teachers, as well as alumni were welcomed to the school to celebrate veterans.

On Friday, October 25, 2019 Heritage Middle School held a Halloween Dance. Students were permitted to attend if their attendance, behavior, and academics were acceptable. Two hundred and fifty students came to dance.
|Heritage Middle School Scholars Learn about Hudson River
Heritage Middle School scholars went to Denning's Point in Beacon to study the Hudson River. Scholars went wading in the Hudson and caught fish! The group did experiments proving the Hudson is a great place to sustain life.

This summer, scholars enrolled in the Empire-State After School Program performed James and the Giant Peach - TYA. Scholars in the Before Broadway Theatre Company will also perform James and the Giant Peach - TYA this fall.
|Heritage Middle School Unveils New Running Path Donated by NFA Alumni
Heritage Middle School unveiled a newly cleared path donated by Newburgh Free Academy alumnus Lynn Warren, class of 1984. The path will primarily be used by the NFA cross-country team for practice and meets.
