Scholars Enjoy Lunch and Legos at Newburgh Free Library
Earlier this week the Newburgh Free Library facilitated a lego station during lunch time. Scholars were able to enjoy their lunch and then spend a few minutes experimenting with architecture and engineering with legos.

Parents and families participated in a regular Parent Café event, hosted by Family and Community Engagement. The guest for this session was Principal Kafele, a nationally renowned education speaker and school leadership expert.

South Middle School celebrated their 8th grade scholars who will be entering high school next year. The celebration was held at Newburgh Free Academy and welcomed family, friends, and community members to honor the scholars.

Eighth grade students at South Middle School visited Lake Compounce. Students celerbated a successful year and had the opportunity to observe the laws of physics and discuss how they play out on theme park rides and our everyday lives.

Newburgh Free Library Opens A Universe of Stories
Stop by the Main or Branch locations of the Newburgh Free Library and sign up for the Summer Reading Program. There are programs for youth of all ages, and adults too! Registration begins June 17, but continues throughout the summer.

South Middle School students celebrated the third annual Elephant Day by hosting elephant themed activities geared toward raising money. The group has donated the money raised, about $500, to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.
