Meadow Hill Scholars Bring Monster Creations to Animated Life!
As Halloween approaches every year, I get excited to do Monster AI with my students. What I love most about this project is that my students get to take full ownership of not just their incredible monster masterpieces that they create, but their writing as well. By allowing my students the freedom to create their own monsters without many restrictions allows them to be as creative as they please. When my students see their completed monster drawing next to what AI interpreted their work as, it's not uncommon to hear gasps of excitement and see jaws drop in awe of what has been created from their own work. That energy then carries over into writing time, and they're noticeably more engaged because they're writing about something they created themselves. They are excited and eager to sit down and tell the story of their own monster.
