District Attorney David Hoovler Visits NFA CTE

We remain thankful for the support of our community partners. From visiting our schools, to motivating our student-athletes, to personally supporting our My Brother's Keeper (MBK) graduates, to supporting our Friday Night Lights program, District Attorney David Hoovler has taken a proactive approach in our schools to help our scholars achieve their goals and find a productive path in our community.

During his visit, our students shared insights and experiences, while learning about the role of the District Attorney throughout the county.

From his visit, District Attorney David Hoovler shared, "I had a wonderful time touring Newburgh Free Academy’s new Career and Technical Education Center with Superintendent Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell and members of her executive staff.

This is an extraordinary facility. It feels more like a college campus than a traditional high school, with state-of-the-art classrooms, laboratories and hands-on learning spaces designed to prepare students for college, careers and life.

I enjoyed meeting students studying criminal justice, automotive and collision repair, welding, cosmetology, nursing and many other career fields. Their enthusiasm was impressive, and so was the commitment of the teachers and staff guiding them.

I strongly support Career and Technical Education. These programs give young people practical skills, professional credentials and a clear path toward good careers in public service, healthcare, the skilled trades and private industry. They also help build the trained workforce our community will need in the years ahead.

The public should take the opportunity to tour this facility and see what is happening here. Newburgh has built something truly special for its students and the entire community.
To top off a great visit, I was officially made an honorary NFA Goldback for life. I’m proud to accept that title and even prouder to support these students.

Thank you to Dr. Manning Campbell, her team, the instructors and especially the students for such a warm welcome. Once a Goldback, always a Goldback!"
