Dear New Windsor School students, families, faculty, and staff,

We are excited to welcome you back for a new school year! I hope your summer recess offered you and your family relaxation, reflection, rejuvenation, and family time.

As you know, New Windsor School is currently undergoing a physical transformation to better support the educational needs of our scholars, faculty, and staff. Unfortunately, the project has encountered unforeseen challenges that have regrettably delayed the opening of our building. An adjusted schedule of important dates can be found below, as well as specific circumstances surrounding this delay.

STUDENTS & FAMILIES

First Day of School for New Windsor School students | Tuesday, September 8th
This is for New Windsor School only

Kindergarten Orientation | Thursday, September 3rd at 5 pm in the New Windsor School cafeteria.
Mr. Camt will share more specific information. This is for New Windsor School Kindergarten students and families only

FACULTY & STAFF

Professional Development | Tuesday & Wednesday, September 1st and 2nd
More details will follow from Mr. Camt. regarding professional development and the faculty meeting on Tuesday, Sept 1st.

Classroom Set-up | Thursday & Friday, September 3rd and 4th from 9 am to 3 pm.
The building will have met all code compliance standards at this point; however, there will be some unfinished work that will be addressed during the evening, weekend, and holiday hours.

These unforeseen circumstances do not diminish the exceptional hard work and dedication demonstrated by our internal planning and construction teams, as well as our contracted vendors. The delay stems from unexpected obstacles—most notably, required asbestos abatement in unanticipated areas and the arrival of a supply shipment received with roughly 80% of materials damaged, which required additional time to replace.

Your building principal, Mr. Dennis Camt, and his team, alongside Central Office leadership, remain fully committed to meticulously managing every detail to ensure a seamless re-entry into our school building.

We sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we work diligently to provide the best possible learning environment for our scholars, educators, and support staff. We look forward to welcoming our scholars, faculty, and staff back on Tuesday, September 8th as we kick off a bright new school year.

In collaboration,

Dr. Jackielyn Manning Campbell
Superintendent of Schools
