NFA North Campus Celebrates 27 Future Certified Nursing Assistants
Our NFA Certified Nursing Assistant program celebrated its annual Pinning Ceremony. Scholars who complete this pathway receive a certificate to begin working as a CNA upon graduation and their 18th birthday. This year, marked a special ceremony as pioneer of the program, Mrs. Linda Romano is hanging up her scrubs and retiring. In 2024, Mrs. Linda Romano, BSN, RN, CNE, FCN, Health Services teacher for the Certified Nursing Assistant Program at Newburgh Free Academy North Campus was recognized as a National Board Certified Teacher. Mrs. Romano was recognized at a Board of Education meeting this spring. Previously, Mrs. Romano was named the 2018 ACTE National Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Romano was also a member of New York State's Blue Ribbon Commission on Graduation Measures, along with NFA West Campus student Carlos Berrios.
We wish all of our graduating nursing students and our retiree all the best in their future endeavors of serving our community and beyond!
The NFA CNA program is led by Mrs. Linda Romano and Dr. Stacy Shewpreshad.
