IMPORTANT: Route 52 Closure & Impact on School Transportation (April 14–15)

Dear NECSD Families and Staff,

The New York State Department of Transportation has advised that State Route 52 at Interstate 84 will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday, April 14, at 7:00 a.m. through Wednesday, April 15, at 7:00 p.m. to facilitate essential construction work.

While this closure is weather-permitting, it may impact our school transportation routes. Please be aware of the following adjustments for Tuesday and Wednesday:

• Potential Delays: Due to the closure and the use of posted detours, many bus routes may experience delays during both morning pickup and afternoon drop-off, despite the location of your stop. Delays at previous stops along your child's bus route may cause delays in the bus arriving to your stop. Please remember that we utilize a multi-tiered system.

• Directional Changes: Buses may be approaching your stop from a different direction than usual to navigate the detour.

• Opposite Side Stops: Because of these directional shifts, buses may be stopping on the opposite side of the street from their normal location.

We ask parents and students to be extra vigilant during these two days. Please wait for the bus to come to a complete stop and ensure the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended before attempting to cross the street.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we navigate these state-mandated road closures to ensure our students are transported safely.
