NECSD CLOSED | Monday, January 26th, 2026
Hello Goldbacks!
The Newburgh Enlarged City School District will be CLOSED tomorrow, Monday, January 26, 2026, due to inclement weather. My team and I will be monitoring the weather and road conditions throughout the day on Monday and will communicate any further changes to our schedule if necessary.
With more than a foot of snow predicted and temperatures expected to be extremely cold, we encourage everyone to stay safe and warm indoors. If you are able, please take a moment to check in on neighbors who may need assistance during the storm. Whether it’s catching up on schoolwork or finally starting that book you’ve been meaning to read, I hope you find some time for quiet reflection while the snow falls.
Clearing our city after a storm of this magnitude is a monumental task. To ensure our roads remain accessible for emergency vehicles, essential workers, and, eventually, our school buses, we kindly ask that you follow all local municipal parking guidelines. Clear streets allow for faster, safer snow removal for everyone.
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to the local Departments of Public Works for their tireless efforts to keep our towns and city clear throughout this storm.
We also want to recognize our incredible Buildings & Grounds, custodial, and facilities crews. Their hard work monitoring our buildings and clearing our parking lots and sidewalks is essential to the safety of our entire school community. We truly value your dedication!
Stay safe, stay warm, and we look forward to seeing you back soon!
Sincerely,
Dr. Jackie Manning Campbell
Superintendent of Schools
