NFA Participates in the Youth in Government County Service Day at the Orange County Government Center in Goshen
NFA’s Youth in Government participated in the annual County Service Day, on April 4th. Students spent the day shadowing and seeing the behind the scenes workings of County Government. Alexandria Crawford had won a county wide election for County Executive and was able to meet and be mentored by Steven Neuhaus. Cora Kerin won the election for County Clerk, Jocelyn Velasquez and Liam Baxter took 1st and 2nd place in the County Judge election and spent the day in the Courts. Da’Mona Grant went to the Emergency Services department to see how our county responds to emergencies. Jennell Rosales, Allison Castillo, Joel Castillo and Isaac Ortega participated in a mock Legislative meeting, met with, and shadowed 4 of our county’s legislators. In the afternoon, we were treated to lunch at the Wallkill Golf Club. NFA came in a close 3rd this year for the most won positions.
