NFA's Colonnade Hosted Roaring 20's Themed Speakeasy Coffeehouse
In honor of Poetry Month, the Colonnade hosted a Roaring 20s themed Speakeasy Coffeehouse in NFA's Black Box Theatre.
We had a good turn out! The Jazz Band and the Madrigals performed while Steven Gonzalez painted a scene inspired by the energy generated by the performances. Vivian Gage and Malia Robinson, the flapper MCs for the event, quizzed the audience about student life as documented in the 1929 NFA Yearbook. Audience members signed up to read their own work or poems of their favorite poets.
Story provided by Mrs. Ginny McCurdy. Photos provided by Yasir Loarte, NFA photography student.
