New York Times Best Selling Author Visits Meadow Hill for Annual Reading Retreat
Meadow Hill School held its annual reading retreat. The school welcomed special guest authors as part of their day of literacy events. Students in grades 3-8 welcomed special guest author Kayla Miller. Kayla Miller is the author and illustrator of the New York Times bestselling Click graphic novel series and co-author of its spin-off series Besties. Students were given an overview about how graphic novels are created and were then able to create their own one-page graphic novels. K-2 students welcomed back former Meadow Hill kindergarten teacher and published author Nancy Stewart. Mrs. Stewart performed read-alouds from two of her story books and gave students insight into the process of writing and illustrating her books. Students then created crafts based on the books. All students were also invited to select a free book provided by the school to add to their home libraries.
