NFA West Campus Gives Out "Do it With Love" Awards for the Month of February!
Newburgh Free Academy, West Campus is doing it with love for the whole month of February! Each Friday, the building nominates one scholar and one faculty/staff member to receive their Do It With Love award.
“At NFA West, we value rigor, relevance, and most importantly, relationships.” 12th grader, Darius Womack spoke as she introduced the awards.
Student Advisory Council sent out a survey to students and faculty/staff to complete. On the Google survey that NFA West students completed, we asked the question: How does this person “Do It With Love” at West?
Mr. Rich was selected as NFA West’s second Educator of the Week for their Do It With Love Award! Mr. Rich’s wife joined to celebrate in honoring her husband. Mr. Andy Velez, Executive Director for Operations and Maintenance was present to hand Mr. Rich his award. Students said:
“Every morning we come in he tells us to have a good day.”
“He is always working hard and cleans efficiently.”
“He always cleans the school and if it wasn’t for him our school would look different..”
“I chose him because he never gets any shout outs or anything for all the hard work he puts in for this school, without him we would have not clean school.”
“He goes above and beyond.”
“He is my hero.”
“He keeps the school clean for everyone.”
Ms. Alexandra Gonzalez, was selected as NFA West’s second Scholar of the Week for their Do It With Love Award! Staff said:
“She is a compassionate scholar who goes above and beyond with her community involvement. On Saturdays she volunteers at The Armory and works with students ranging from pre-school to 6th grade. She has displayed leadership qualities through ROTC and in the halls of NFA West.”
“She is a student leader in and outside of the classroom. She has a pleasant personality and she is a true representation of a student who ‘Does it with love’.”
