Every Student Succeeds (ESSA) Funded Programs Survey

The Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), as amended by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA), contains several provisions requiring districts to consult with various groups in the development of the Consolidated Application and the programs related to each Title. As part of the consultation, the district needs your input. Highlighted below is a summary of the programs.

Title I Part A - Improving Basic Programs
Title I, Part A (Title I) provides financial assistance to local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools with high numbers or high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.
Title II Part A - Supporting Effective Instruction
The purpose of this program is to increase student academic achievement through strategies such as improving teacher and principal quality, increasing the number of highly qualified teachers in the classroom and highly qualified principals and assistant principals in schools.
Title III Part A - English Language Learners
The purpose of Title III Part A (Title III) is to help ensure that children and youth who are limited English proficient attain language proficiency, develop high levels of academic attainment in English and meet the same challenging standards that all children are expected to meet.
