Fostertown Dual Language Kindergarten Class Hosts Special Mother's Day Event
Mrs. Mercado and Ms. Ortiz's dual language kindergarten class hosted a Mother's Day Event in their classroom. The mothers were welcomed by two students who greeted them in both English and Spanish before they entered the classroom. The scholars created three projects to present to their moms. They painted small pots and planted flowers in them. They created portraits of their mothers along with a small interview piece where they answered a few questions about their moms. They also created a tulip made from their handprint along with a small poem. There were special treats and iced tea for the mothers and students to enjoy. The little ones practiced two songs leading up to the event that they performed and dedicated to their mothers. One song was performed in English and the other in Spanish. Also, Mrs. Mercado and Ms. Ortiz crafted an online book with all the students' pictures in it.
La clase de kínder bilingüe de la Sra. Mercado y la Sra. Ortiz organizó un evento del Día de la Madre en su salón de clases. Las madres fueron recibidas por dos estudiantes quienes las saludaron tanto en inglés como en español antes de que entraran al salón de clases. Los becarios crearon tres proyectos para presentar a sus mamás. Pintaron macetas pequeñas y plantaron flores en ellas. Crearon retratos de sus madres junto con una pequeña entrevista donde respondieron algunas preguntas sobre sus madres. También crearon un tulipán hecho con la huella de su mano junto con un pequeño poema. Hubo golosinas especiales y té helado para que las madres y los estudiantes disfrutaran. Los pequeños ensayaron dos canciones previas al evento que interpretaron y dedicaron a sus madres. Una canción fue interpretada en inglés y la otra en español. Además, la Sra. Mercado y la Sra. Ortiz crearon un libro en línea con todas las fotografías de los estudiantes.
Los académicos hicieron un trabajo increíble. Sus madres disfrutaron de la presentación y se fueron con el corazón lleno.
