Horizons on the Hudson Hosts Annual Welcome Back Block Party

Horizons on the Hudson celebrated the start of school with a Block Party! Scholars, families, teachers, and friends came together after school for the celebratory event. Several community organizations were on hand to provide information and resources to the students and their families. The Blacc Vanilla Community Foundation gave away four bicycles! Recording artist and Newburgh native, Pardison Fontaine filled and distributed 75 backpacks with school supplies.
A special thank you to event coordinator Ms. Karriem Bunce, building principal Mr. Rob Glowacki, the HOH PTO, the Newburgh Free Library, NFA West and NECSD MBK and MSK programs, Froyo, the Boys and Girls Club, the Newburgh City Police Department, DJ Mizz Official (Chandra James), We Are Newburgh, Hook Elite Boxing, Newburgh Steelers, Project Hope, Storm King Art Center, and Land to Learn. Additional thanks to BOE member, Mr. Philip Howard, Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources, Mr. Michael McLymore, Assistant Superintendent, Chief Equity Officer, Dr. Pedro Roman, Chief Data Officer, Ms. Onyx Peterson, HOH ITF Shaun Merritt-Scott, and all HOH/NECSD faculty and staff who attended and supported.
