Black History Month Showcase | Our Voice. Our Stories. Our Power.
Calling all Students! Share your words. Share your voice. Be heard!
Have your work featured at a future event or our collection celebrating student writing and creativity.
- K–5: Elementary students are invited to share their writing, poems, drawings with words, or short reflections that celebrate Black history contributions, and the stories that inspire them.
- Grades 6–8: Middle school students are encouraged to submit original writing, poetry, spoken word, or song lyrics that explore Black history, identity, and voice.
- Grades 9–12: High school students may share original essays, poetry, spoken word, or musical pieces that reflect on Black history, social change, and personal or historical narratives.
Submit your work by February 24, 2026 to the google form at: newburghschools.org/blackhistorymonth
