THANK YOU | Deep Gratitude for Our Winter Heroes
Hello Goldbacks!
Thank you for your patience as our district and community navigated the large storm and frigid temperatures in our area. At this time, we anticipate opening all schools on a regular schedule, tomorrow, Thursday, January 29th. Any changes will be communicated as needed.
I want to extend my sincere thanks to our incredible Facilities, Custodial, and Buildings & Grounds staff for their tireless work following this recent snowstorm.
While most of us were hunkered down, these dedicated employees were out in the elements. We recognize that this wasn't just another shift. The last few days involved frigid temperatures, grueling physical labor, and many additional hours away from your own warmth and comfort.
Perhaps most importantly, we know that while you were here ensuring our schools were safe and accessible, you also had your own homes, driveways, and families to worry about. Balancing those personal responsibilities while showing up for our community is no small feat.
Thank you for your grit and for keeping us running. We see your hard work, and we truly appreciate it.
Additionally, I would like to applaud our school bus drivers. Once the lots were clear, you took on the daunting task of navigating the roads. We are so grateful for the skill and patience you display as you maneuver through narrow streets and potentially slick terrain. Thank you for your unwavering focus on getting our students to and from school safely.
The commitment shown across these groups of people displays the backbone of our community. We see your extra hours, your cold hands, and your hard work, and we know that we are incredibly lucky to have you on our team.
Sincerely,
Dr. Jackie Manning Campbell
Superintendent of Schools
