Balmville Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month!
Balmville students wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month on October 15th with an exciting school wide assembly full of music, dance, and learning!
Students in Ms. Calman’s 2nd grade class and Ms. Ortiz’s ELL classes got everyone moving with a fun dance to “La Gozadera” by Gente de Zona featuring Marc Anthony. Ms. Ortiz’s students also performed a colorful dance to “Mi Encanto” by Carlos Vives.
Ms. Fonseca’s 2nd graders shared inspiring biographies of Jaime Escalante and Zeynep Mejia, teaching us about their amazing accomplishments and determination.
The celebration ended with a show-stopping performance by Ms. Rayford’s 3rd grade class and members of our Student Leadership Team! They performed a mix of songs and dances that even included some of our teachers and students joining in on the fun!
It was a joyful way to honor Hispanic Heritage Month and celebrate the beauty of our cultures here at Balmville!
