IBM Volunteers Visit Balmville
This year's project, coordinated by NFA P-TECH alumnus Kyle Villano from IBM, focused on sustainable aviation. Students had the opportunity to be engineers!
For grades K-2, students created hoop gliders, a project specifically designed for younger students. Grades 3-5 built fling-planes, aiming to see how far their fling-planes could travel while keeping the pilot securely attached to the aircraft. While making their fling-planes, students learned that an engineer is creative, works in a team, has a plan, and learns from their mistakes.
