This winter season was truly historic, filled with outstanding accomplishments. Congratulations to all of you, and thank you for your hard work, commitment, and dedication to our student-athletes.

Also, as we recognize Athletic Trainers Appreciation Month, please don’t forget to thank and celebrate our outstanding athletic trainer, Hailey. She truly goes above and beyond in caring for and supporting our student-athletes each and every day. Thank you Hailey!

Athletic Winter Program Highlights

  • Varsity Cheer – Section IX Champions
    Our NFA Varsity Cheer Team captured the Section IX Championship and went on to compete at the New York State Championship!

  • Sportsmanship Award
    Caila McMillan received the Sportsmanship Award at the New York State Cheer Championships — an outstanding honor representing the character of our program.

  • Read Across America Community Engagement
    Our Girls Cheer Program celebrated Read Across America by visiting younger students and reading with them. It was a great opportunity for our athletes to promote literacy while connecting with students across our school community.


Girls Varsity Basketball

  • League Champions & Section IX Champions
    The Girls Varsity Basketball Team had an incredible season, finishing 9–1 in league play to capture the League Championship and earn the #1 seed in the sectional playoffs.

  • The team went on to win the Section IX Championship — the program’s first sectional title in 21 years!

  • The team now advances to the Regional Championship vs. Albertus Magnus.

  • Coaching Recognition for Boys Basketball
    Congratulations to Coach Jason McAllister Jr. on receiving the Jim Taravella Memorial Orange County Award for his outstanding leadership and contributions to the sport.


Indoor Track & Field

  • State Championship Relay Success
    Gabrielle, competing with the Section IX Intersectional Relay, placed 5th at the NY State Indoor Track & Field Championship and 5th at the Federation Championship, earning two state medals.

  • Record-Breaking Performances & State Qualifiers

    • Roman D’Alfonso set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD in the Weight Throw and qualified for the State Championships.

    • Jaden Williams set a NEW SCHOOL RECORD in the Triple Jump, also qualifying for States.

  • Additional State Qualifiers

    • Long Jump: Jeron Underwood

    • 4x400 Relay: Giwenn Eloge, Bryan Arenas, Gianni Graham, Jeron Underwood

      • Alternates: Benjamin Bermudez & Kendy Georges


Wrestling

  • State Championship Qualifiers:
    William Coughlin, Will Soto, and Mateo Morell qualified for the NYSPHSAA State Championships in Albany.

  • State Medalist
    Will Soto placed 3rd at the NYSPHSAA Division 1 Wrestling Championships, earning a state medal.


Bowling

Girls Varsity Bowling

  • Candace Bryan qualified for the Individual New York State Championship Tournament.

  • The team finished the season with an outstanding 11–5 record and placed 2nd at the Section Tournament.

Boys Varsity Bowling

  • The team finished 2nd in the Section and earned a place on the Division 1 At-Large Team, qualifying for the New York State Championships.

  • Individual State Qualifiers:

Unified Bowling

  • Our Unified Bowling Team captured the Section IX Championship.


Boys Varsity Swimming

  • The Varsity Boys Swimming Team had a strong showing at Sectionals, finishing 4th out of 21 teams.
