Heritage Middle School Celebrates 8th Graders Moving to High School

Heritage Middle School celebrated their 8^th grade scholars who will be entering high school next year. The celebration was held at Newburgh Free Academy and welcomed family, friends, and community members to honor the scholars. The HMS Band played the National Anthem as the NFA AFJr ROTC Color Guard presented the Colors. The HMS Violin Quartet entertained the audience with Stars For A Summer Night (Columbia) and Crusaders Hymn (August Heinrich Hoffmann von Fallersleben and Ernst Richter) and the Chorus performed A Million Dreams from “The Greatest Showman.”

 

Mrs. Lynnette Brunger, Principal, gave the Opening Address and was very proud of

the accomplishments of this year’s 8^th grade class, which numbered more than 250

students.

 

Individual Academic Awards were presented by the teachers of the specific areas of

instruction followed by the distribution of the certificates entitling this class to continue

their education as “high schoolers.” Upon successful completion of the academic and

State requirements, this class is now a part of cohort 2019.
