Community Update
Dear NECSD Families
We always have a lot of activities happening around our district with important information to share to keep our community informed and updated. This newsletter will serve as a high-level overview, with links to allow our community to dive deeper into topics that are most important to them.

High School Leadership
We are proud of the homegrown leadership that has been developed here in Newburgh and are looking forward to this next chapter as we open a new building and continue to grow together as a community. Below, you will find the leadership structure for our high school campuses for next school year.

Contract Negotiations
I am please to announce Teachers, Teaching Assistants, and Substitute Teacher Contracts have all been settled. The teachers contract was settled on January 8, 2026, the Teaching Assistants and Substitute Teacher Contract were settled on March 4, 2026. We are awaiting ratification by members of the three Newburgh Teachers’ Association bargaining units, which allows its members to vote on the terms to be included in collective bargaining agreement as mutually agreed upon by the district’s and the union's negotiating teams. Once that occurs, the Board of Education will vote on ratification resolutions for the three agreements.
Budget Presentation
The latest budget presentation took place at the BOE Meeting this past Tuesday. You can see the presentation here. View all the latest budget information on the district's budget information webpage.

FINE AND PERFORMING ARTS
Middle School Art Show
The district’s Middle School Art Show celebrated the remarkable growth of our young scholars, showcasing their ability to create, present, respond, and connect through diverse mediums. This impressive collection was made possible by our dedicated faculty, whose thoughtful lessons and creative prompts challenge students to push their boundaries. Under their mentorship, these emerging artists transformed classroom concepts into a vibrant display of individual expression and technical skill for our community to appreciate and enjoy.

ATHLETICS
Girls Varsity Basketball
Although the Girls Varsity Basketball season has come to an end, we do want to congratulate them on a great season and shout out one more time Terri’nashjae “TT” Burden. Earlier this year TT broken the girls all-time scoring record of 1,544 career points, and then went on to break the All-Time NFA Basketball Career Points record held since 1955 when she surpassed 1,636 career points. She ended the season with 1,878 total points.

FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
Community Conversations Tonight!
To discuss these or any topics important to you, I invite you to join the Board of Education and me at our next scheduled Community Conversations event that will be held on Friday, March 13 from 6:00pm until 6:45pm at NFA Main Campus

Our last event welcomed more than 20 community members, where we focused on academics from Pre-K through 12th grade, and ways in which our district prepares our scholars for contributing successfully to our community beyond graduation.
