At a recent Newburgh Enlarged City School District Board of Education meeting, NECSD Superintendent Dr. Annette M. Saturnelli along with Board of Education members recognized Temple Hill Academy Elementary School fourth grader Cecilia Reyes for earning second place in the United Way’s Touch-A-Truck Coloring Contest. The United Way’s Touch-A-Truck fundraising event provides local children with the opportunity to see real-life dump trucks, tow trucks, fire trucks and other large vehicles up close and personal.
The Superintendent, along with Board President Dawn M. Fucheck, recognized Reyes with a Certificate of Achievement for her efforts in the coloring contest. In addition, Jessica Callihan, Director of Program Development for the Orange County United Way, was on hand to speak on behalf of her organization. Reyes was publicly recognized and presented with a United Way certificate, an enlarged copy of her winning entry and a “Toys’ R Us” gift card.
