Introductory meeting of the Astronomy Club on Tuesday, October 25th at 2:45 pm in the NFA Main Planetarium.
The NFA Department of Counseling and Guidance presents 2 events: The Fall College Planning Night and the College & Career Fair at Newburgh Free Academy Main Campus will be hed on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 5:00 8:30. At 5:00 in the Main Campus Auditorium representatives from public, private, trade and technical institutions will speak about the admissions process. They will also answer your questions regarding admissions, scholarships, financial aid, and programs of study. A bilingual presentation of this program will be held in Room 220.
At 6:30 pm representatives from 4-year colleges and universities, 2-year colleges, trade/technical schools, and the military will be available to answer more of your questions. The event is free. Newburgh students in grades 8-12 and their famiies are encouraged to attend.
Beginning Thursday 10/20/16 shuttle buses between campuses of NFA will be provided as indicated below:
*One bus departing NFA North at 2:18 PM dismissal from the lower level to NFA Main
*One bus departing NFA West at approximately2:15 PM – this bus will first go to NFA Main to drop off/pick up students as needed, then proceed to NFA North
Buses will pick up/discharge students on the upper level at both Main and North. The buses used for the shuttles will be from Visconti Bus Service and will have signs indicating “NFA SHUTTLE”
The Mid-Hudson Valley College Fair sponsored by the National Hispanic College Fairs Incorporated will be holding its annual College Fair at Middletown HS on Thursday, November 17th. Free roundtrip transportation will be provided to the first 20 seniors who sign up and return their permission slip. To learn more, stop by the Guidance Office.
The NFA Guidance Department is looking for students interested in becoming language ambassadors for new students that come from other countries. If you speak another language and would be interested in helping along a fellow classmate get settled in our school, please see Mrs. Guitierrez-Colon or Mrs. Hurtado-Kuhn in guidance for details. Community service hours for your participation is available.
