Welcome to all District Faculty, Staff and Administrators to the start of the 2011-12 school year. Congratulations!
We start the new school year with an elevated and continued culture of energy efficiency and consumption awareness. For the past twenty months we have prudently managed our energy by preventing wasteful energy consumption while our schools are unoccupied. The results are financially and environmentally outstanding.
Measuring accurately, your vigilant efforts have captured over a twenty percent reduction in our $2.8 million utility budget which equates to literally thousands of dollars better used for more meaningful educational purposes. Congratulations again!
Thus far we have achieved this success from our lighting, heating, cooling and refrigeration sources. This year we need to focus much-needed attention on our ever- increasing use of energy on our technology equipment:
Smart boards
Computers
Printers
Monitors
Chargers
Scanners
Copiers
Projectors
PA Systems
Fax Machines
Paper Shredders
This equipment needlessly consumes extensive amounts of electrical power long after school is dismissed and our buildings are unoccupied. Each user is expected to turn off their technology equipment COMPLETELY at the end of each day.
Here’s looking forward to our best school year ever.
