Horizons on the Hudson Celebrates the Week of the Young Child

Students in teacher Elizabeth Harding and teaching assistant Joann Knabbe’s afternoon Universal Pre-K class at Horizons on the Hudson in Newburgh had a surprise guest reader recently as part of the Week of the Young Child celebration.

Newburgh Enlarged City School District Superintendent of Schools Ralph A. Pizzo read, “If You Give a Moose a Muffin”, to the students and shared in the festivities of the day.

In addition to guest readers throughout the week, students participated in Hat Day, Stuffed Animal Day, Horizons on the Hudson Pride Day, and Pajama Day.

The Week of the Young Child highlights the importance of families, early childhood professionals, and communities working together to support every child’s healthy development and early learning.
