First graders at Horizons on the Hudson celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. through Art!

Mrs. Jonisz's first grade classroom worked with HOH art teacher, Ms. Heisler to learn more about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's Principles of Nonviolence. The class focused on three principles of nonviolence, then they illustrated pictures and wrote about ways they practice these principles of nonviolence. The Three Principles focused on were: Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people, Nonviolence seeks to win friendship and understanding, and NonViolence chooses love instead of hate. The students' illustrations and writing were sent to be displayed in Albany, NY.
